Water Corporation reports several burst water mains - affecting Hazelmere, Belmont, Redcliffe, South Guildford and High Wycombe - following criminal damage to a major water pressure valve.
As a priority, crews are actively working to repair the valve and the water mains, and affected customers can check the status of their outage here: https://www.watercorporation.com.au/Outages-and-works
The incidents follow the theft of a water pressure valve pipe at around 2am this morning (5 June) in Belmont. This affected the function of the valve, which resulted in extremely high pressure causing multiple burst pipes.
Water Corporation would like to apologise to its affected customers, and would appeal for any information related to the theft to be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
